Marcy Avenue at Broadway, Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Although the intersection of Marcy Avenue and Broadway is one of the most photogenic spots at night in New York City (especially Brooklyn), I honestly don’t like going there after dark. Too many times have I seen the atmosphere suddenly change with a homeless guy aggressively looking for trouble with anyone who comes near him. I once saw a fight break out; not a pleasant experience.
But the rawness of this place appeals to me, without any hint of gentrification. So I keep coming back with a clear goal: to quickly take my preplanned photos and catch the subway back to Manhattan.
