before gentrification
W 25th Street at 10th Avenue, Chelsea. West Side of Manhattan.
New York City, September 2013.
In Chelsea, the gentrification is accelerating. The avant-garde is priced out, and luxury residences are sprouting up, along with corporate headquarters and high-end retail.
This part of the neighborhood has completely changed.
The mural, “V-J Day Kiss,” by artist Eduardo Kobra was a great attraction that could be seen from the High Line.
All gone.
