Dragonfly - Newly Emerged 2

Today’s “Adventure Friday” took me deep into southern Indiana; to a few sites around Lake Monroe. I was again frustrated by high water and flooded roads. One of the park rangers said that some places were still 20 feet above flood stage. I eventually got around to Paintown State Recreation Area which was partially open and I hiked some trails dodging flooded woods. The mosquitoes were the worst I’ve ever seen and I was actually forced into a tactical retreat. :-) I then finished the day at Brown County state park where conditions were a little better. All in all a fun day of exploration, adventure, and bug bites. :-)
