D10477 Jaguar T2A Cockpit

6 Squadron,

Royal Air Force.

Over Central England

Flown from RAF Coltishall

Note the distance to the other aircraft flying in formation, the skill of the pilots has to be respected, especially since a similar separation was maintained during manoeuvring. Also remember the wings are not visible in this image, they take up quite a lot of the gap there appears to be.

As far as the slightly odd impression in the rear view mirror goes, there are not two people in the rear cockpit, I am holding the camera beside my helmet to get a slightly wider view by getting it further back. Space in fast jet cockpits is limited and changing lenses during a flight is not encouraged so, although I had the correct lens to photograph other aircraft, it was not as wide an angle as I would have liked inside and even a few inches shift in position was worth it, as they say every little helps. Framing was by estimation checked on the rear screen afterwards.
