Cement empties on the Dartford Loop
The shadows are lengthening late in October 1987 as 73004, one of the six original 'JA' elecro-diesels runs down the Dartford Loop near Bexley with an empty cement train.
73004 carries a unique livery: Network SouthEast blue with wrap-around yellow cab ends. It was named 'The Bluebell Railway' the previous month. 73005 carried a similar livery, albeit without wrap-around yellow ends, having being named 'The Watercress Line'.
This seems likely to be 6Y40, the 1010 Southampton Northam to Northfleet empties: the bogie Presflo dry powder cement tanks were owned by Blue Circle Cement and worked flows from Northfleet works.
