My Pups

First, there was Frodo. We never really knew what breed he was but came to the conclusion he had a lot of Schnoodle in him. He was a great canoeing partner although he hated water. We had him for a wonderful 13 years before cancer took him from us early in June, 2008.

About a month later, we adopted Sam and Pip. Sam is a schnoodle and the reason we originally went to the breeders. While there, my wife fell in love with Pip, a Shih-Poo. So, we brought them both home. They are half brothers, aged about 3 months apart.

In October, on my birthday, I looked at the breeder's webpage -- not exactly sure why. I fell in love with Rosie from her photo. A subsequent visit with the breeder cemented that love. And, we ended up with a third pup. She's about 3 months younger than Pip and also shares the same father with Pip and Sam. They have 3 different mothers though.

Any LOTR fans might notice a trend here. Yeah, it's deliberate. Frodo was named before we got him (and before the films came out). It seemed only natural to continue the trend when we got the new pups. Amazingly, their individual traits really match well to their names!
