Experimenting with Para Cord
4 Para Cord examples I made up using High quality US army and Nato standard 550 spec cord. The two straight long bands are wrist straps, made by be for my own wrist circumference with the recommended extra inch making them 13.25 inches long and with high standard contoured plastic easy on and quick release buckles. The single colour one is in Digital Camo colour and the other is made up of half Multicamo colour and half purple. These wrist straps contain just over a foot for every inch of length so those two alone hold 13ft of DigiCam and allmost 7 ft of Multicamo and another 7ft in purple giving you around 25ft of 550llb Milspec Para Cord that can be undone in 30 seconds. Think of how many things having 25ft of high strength cord could be used for in everyday situations and in an emergency etc... The short one is a keyring piece connecting my Titanium multitool to the Titanium carabiner to eliminate noise and avoid damage, it amazingly is made from over 2ft of cord, plenty to get you out of a bind and perfect to go with the strong carabiner and extreamly useful multitool, it could easily be the 3 items that you can make a temp fix with to get you home and so many other uses. The tool has notches to allow Paracord to be attached in several ways without any complicated knots to give you a strong fixing point. Finally is my sweet little kubotan measuring 10.5 inches and made from a strong solid polymer, a great self defense item which is 100 percent legal to cary as a defence item in the same way tactical pens and certain metal flashlights can be used. The 5ft of cord attached allows a stronger and lower grip to enhance the amount of power from a swiping move and to keep a good grip when used in a ice pick or poker fashion, it also provides a great wrist loop to prevent loosing hold of your defensive kubotan. The amount of cord you can build into every day straps and bands is amazing and can be increased using different methods and patterns. More to follow as I continue experimenting with various other patterns onto different items. I have a few colours and am going to order some more in different colours. It costs between £3 - £4 for 50ft from good sources but there are alot of cheap imitation cord coming from Asia with false info stating its specs. Only by from the few stores on eBay and Amazon that stock US made Milspec 550 para cord. The plastic buckles are about 15p each and metal versions with smart multi purpose parts are available which can provide a fixing point or adjuster for deployed cord.
