remembering paul gauguin, hampi

dark skinned woman with the backdrop of richly painted walls. that wall was actually interior part of the house before recent demolition of the front lane, surprisingly there is a frame of saint sai baba still hanging!

this reminded me of one of my favourite paul gauguin's love for painting polynesians with deities, in strident colours 'n reducing to high degree of simplification 'n symbolism.
