First Glasgow 33370/LK53EYM | Route 57A | Balornock East
33370 now lives in rather different surroundings from its original haunts out of Westbourne Park.
Part of a batch of 44 10.5m long Transbus Tridents on ALX400 bodies, it was purchased for the sole purpose of replacing RMLs on route 23. This resulted in converting it to a full OPO route as opposed to it being so on evenings and Sundays only, where Metrobuses and early Trident Presidents featured. Monday - Saturday evenings, this was achieved through crosslinking boards with the 18, on Sundays it was an all-day allocation so the boards remained on the route all day.
Starting out in life as TAL1370, it was soon renumbered to TNA33370 upon the introduction of First's national fleet numbering system. In 2012, upon being replaced by E400 hybrids, it was transferred out to Glasgow, where it operates to this day along with sisters 33358, 33359, 33361 and 33374. The Caledonia-based vehicle is seen here in Balornock East with a 57A for Kennishead.
