Early Season Snow, Middle Prong Wilderness, Pisgah National Forest, North Carolina

This is the Middle Prong of the Little Pigeon River, the namesake of this wilderness area in the far western region of Pisgah National Forest. The rhododendron received a nice dusting by the first snowfall of the season. The hike was down Buckeye Gap Trail and up Haywood Gap Trail to get to this crossing.
