L'inceneritore di Spittelau è un impianto di trattamento termico dei rifiuti della città di Vienna, completato nel 1971 e ridisegnato esternamente da Friedensreich Hundertwasser dopo un incendio nel 1987.
Si trova nella parte settentrionale del 9º distretto cittadino (Alsergrund) sul Donaukanal ed è uno dei tre impianti della "Energie Wien". Con una potenza di 460 MW, l'impianto è il secondo maggior produttore nel sistema di teleriscaldamento della città di Vienna. Nella posizione odierna fornisce calore da circa 2 km di distanza al Nuovo Policlinico (Neue Allgemeine Krankenhaus).
L'impianto è stato rinnovato con un abbattimento dei vapori nel 1986-1989) e con un sistema di denitrificazione e di riduzione della diossina (1989). Contemporaneamente l'aspetto esterno di tutto l'impianto di teleriscaldamento, in seguito a un grande incendio nel 1987, venne ridisegnato da Friedensreich Hundertwasser e spicca oggi tra gli edifici industriali che lo circondano, divenuto anche attrazione turistica.

The incinerator Spittelau is a thermal waste treatment plant of the city of Vienna , which was completed in 1971 and redesigned by Friedensreich Hundertwasser outside after a fire in 1987.
It is located in the northern part of the 9th district city ( Alsergrund) on the Danube Canal and is one of three plants of " Wien Energie ." With an output of 460 MW , the plant is the second largest producer in the district heating system of the city of Vienna. In today's location provides heat for about 2 km away to the New Hospital (Neue Allgemeine Krankenhaus ) .
The facility was renovated with a vapor abatement in 1986-1989) and with a system of denitrification and reduction of dioxin ( 1989). At the same time the external appearance of the entire district heating plant , following a major fire in 1987 , was redesigned by Friedensreich Hundertwasser and today stands out among the industrial buildings that surround it, has also become a tourist attraction.
