my slippers
While staying at High Like with my wife last October, we were treated to some very wet and cold weather. Luckily we had a beautiful cabin with a gorgeous vantage point our over High Lake - the perfect place for reading a book and catching an afternoon nap.
The high contrast between the bright outdoors and dim indoor light meant that I needed to bracket my exposures for this image and then combine them together to make sure I had details both indoors and outdoors. I chose a very large aperture of f/1.8 for the exposures to give a shallow depth of field and allow the slippers (a great pair from Egli's Sheep Farm!) to stand out in the foreground. I also like the link between foreground and background colours in the image.
Great memories and a wonderful weekend!
