TOUCAN BARBET Semnornis ramphastinus. This vibrant, multicolored Toucan Barbet was found perching on a limb on a mountain crest in the Mindo Valley Area in northwestern Ecuador on June 17, 2012.
The Toucan Barbet was until recently placed in the avian family Capitonidae (New World Barbets) but now it is found in the family Semnornithidae. The Toucan Barbet is principally frugivorous.
