SUBTROPICAL CACIQUE Cacicus uropygialis. An adult Subtropical Cacique is seen feeding a fledgling in a forest on the lower east slopes of the Andes in northern Ecuador at 2:04 PM on March 10, 2025.

 

The Subtropical Cacique belongs to the oriole, cacique and oropendola family Icteridae and is found from Venezuela south along the eastern slope of the Andes through Colombia, Ecuador and Perú in South America.
