ECUADORIAN HILLSTAR Male Oreotrochilus chimborazo. A male Ecuadorian Hillstar is perching in a fruiting bush above treeline in the paramo of Volcán Cotopaxi in northern Ecuador at 10:32 AM on on November 13, 2018.

 

The Ecuadorian Hillstar is a member of the hummingbird family Trochilidae and is a high altitude hummingbird whose geographic range is restricted almost exclusively to Ecuador.
