Me Old Ford Cortina MKII 1600 Super. "Rest in Peace - Blanche" (1968-1990)

Me poor baby!, Born the same year as me and I killed her in 1990 by pulling out in front of a Volvo estate, It was dark and the Volvo only had it's 'day-lights' on!, however still my fault for pulling out? I drove her home after the accident and parked her right here at the back of my garden. She remained there until 2001 when I cut my trees and crained her away. I got her in 1986 for £450, I could not believe how 'new' looking she was for being a 18 year old car! however a lot of money was spent bringing her up to an even better standard, new sills, rear wheel arches and a remanufactured velocity plate for the auto box. The engine already was a silverseal recond job, all I done was add a K&N filter with Janspeed four-branch exhaust manifold, I did not mess about with the head. Not even a fancy ICE system or radio, nor the fluffy dice. The 'Auto-Choke' system was messed up by me adding the K&N round chrome filter (no hot manifold hose pickup), so on the cold mornings I had to lift the filter and stick a cap of a bic pen to force the venturi closed to get a good start. All I wanted was for the engine to 'breath' well at both ends with the K&N and janspeed 4-2-1, it worked so well!!. Police in northern ireland liked to stop me in my Cortina, just to say something like.. "In my day I would have givin' me right arm to have one of these!"
