A mere hint of colour
The majority of my work is in "Black & White", but there are some images that just need that harsh edge removing - a touch of sepia.
Sepia is a reddish-brown colour, named after the rich brown pigment derived from the ink sac of the common cuttlefish Sepia.

In photography: Sepia toning is a specialised treatment to give a black-and-white photographic print a warmer tone and to enhance its archival qualities. The metallic silver in the print is converted to a sulphide compound, which is much more resistant to the effects of environmental pollutants such as atmospheric sulphur compounds. Silver sulphide is at least 50% more stable than silver
