WX54XDE First West of England 66721

Volvo B7RLE / Wright B43F new Dec 2004 , originally at Wells for service 376 to Bristol in "Rail link" livery. The Wells batch were all replaced with new Volvo/ Wrights in Oct 2009 , and most moved to Weston super Mare , by which time most had been repainted in standard Barbie livery.

When the X2/X3 services were converted to double deck operation in Sept 2016 66721 moved back to Wells and in March 2017 it was repainted in Mendip Xplorer blue and gold livery.

All 25 vehicles at Wells are now in this Mendip Xplorer livery , all except 3 having been new at Wells , 9 Streetdecks , 14 Eclipse 2s , and 66720/1 , which being the oldest work mainly on 126 in accordance with tradition.

66721 is in Winscombe on 126 to Wells due at 14.35 and running about 10 minutes late.

66721 was involved in a head-on crash on 20th November 2017 and may well be written off. 66936 has gone to Wells to replace it for now.
