Rat Rescue At Sowerby Bridge (Michael McNicholas)
31229 leads 25906 & 25904 towards Milner Royd Junction at Sowerby Bridge with 6E25 06:10 Stanlow to Leeds loaded tanks. 1/10/86. Apparently 25904 had failed somewhere to the west, so the Class 31 was sent to rescue the train, as a single "Rat" wasn't trusted to power the train solo. It was about three hours late at this point. I have no idea whether Michael knew about it in advance, or whether he just struck lucky.
