Celebration

Got back from our Southwest Photo Tour with Ricky. It was a great trip and Kevin and I took a lot of Photos. You can see my photos on my flickr site: www.flickr.com/photos/needlepointernc

We went to visit the El Santuario De Chimayo Shrine on our way back to La Veta from Santa Fe. It is a site where Pilgrims come to be healed. I brought home a smudge stick, some Holy Dirt, and a Milagro. I had not been feeling well before the trip and am now celebrating that I am feeling better.

"Smudging is the common name given to the indigenous American tradition known as the Sacred Smoke Bowl Blessing. This is a powerful spiritual cleansing technique which calls upon the spirits of various sacred plants to drive away negative energy and to restore balance to an individual, a group, a space, or all three."

I lit my smudge stick and collecting the ashes in a pottery dish that my Mom made in High School.

I used some Lightroom presets, several textures in PS, and added a border in ON1.
