The Econodek 600 precast plank and block floor slab system uses technology which has been available in South Africa for over 40 years, and in Europe for much longer than that.
It is a composite concrete slab system which displaces as much of the ineffective concrete below the theoretical neutral plane as possible, whilst maintaining the integrity of the slab. The use of hollow blocks as the displacer ensurers advantages in mass saving, speed, economy and a high degree of thermal and acoustic insulation. A flat soffit, with a rough surface, allows good adhesion for plastering ceilings.
