State Fair

North Carolina State Fair

Raleigh, NC

October, 2010

8 sec exposure

ISO 100

I'll get back to shots from my recent fall colors outing in the NC mountains, but I thought I'd mix things up a bit with a few shots from the recently completed North Carolina State Fair. I've always been impressed by some of the ferris wheel shots I've seen on FLICKR, but I hadn't ever tried my hand at it until my wife and I spent an evening at the fair.

It's a tough shot to take, primarily because I really hate feeling like I'm setting up my tripod in a high traffic area. The other tough part is that I'm convinced the ferris wheel takes 30 minutes to load for a ride that last 60 seconds. In any case, this is one of three shots which turned out well enough to post. My biggest self-criticism here would be that I wish the empty space in the upper left was a little smaller..

As always, thank you for visiting. I appreciate your feedback!
