Sorenson-204

Former North Dakota Army National Guard member Phil Sorenson, left, who lost the lower half of his left leg to a roadside bomb in Iraq in 2004, visits with archery outfitter John Mickelson Oct. 19 at Cabela’s sporting goods store in East Grand Forks, Minn. Sorenson is being surprised with a $500 shopping spree provided by Cabela’s and arranged by “Archer’s Choice,” an Outdoor Channel hunting show. Ralph and Vicki Cianciarulo are the hosts of the program and also are providing a guided hunt for Sorenson that will be aired on the program in the fall of 2013. Sorenson was unaware of the shopping spree and surprised by Cabela’s and the Cianciarulos under the ruse of buying a hunting license for the guided deer hunt near Binford, N.D.
