Security personnel checking offender mail at Columbus Correctional Institution recently became suspicious of a knit hat with an odd seam in the lining and a hint of something hidden inside the bill. The scrutiny uncovered 151 strips of Suboxone intended for an offender. The prisons system this week announced an upgrade to offender mail procedures, taking effect Oct. 18, to close the mail pipeline of contraband.
