130220-N-DU438-154 GULF OF THAILAND (Feb. 20, 2013)— Aviation Electronics Technician Airman Jessica Zavaleta, originally from Brownsville, Texas, a member of the ship’s security reaction force, knocks on a door to inform Sailors a simulated improvised explosive device (IED) has been found in the area during an anti-terrorism force protection drill aboard the forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6). The Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group, currently on deployment in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations, is taking part in Cobra Gold, a Thai-U.S. co-sponsored multinational joint exercise designed to advance regional security by exercising a robust multinational force from nations sharing common goals and security commitments in the Asia-Pacific region.
