110527-N-KK935-036 JAVA SEA (May 27, 2011) Boatswains Mate 3rd Class Christopher Davis, assigned to the guided-missile destroyer USS Howard (DDG 83) is the helmsman during ship maneuvering drills with ships from the U.S. and the Indonesian Navy. Howard is currently off the coast of Indonesia participating in the sea phase of Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Indonesia 2011. CARAT is a series of bilateral exercises held annually in Southeast Asia to strengthen relationships and enhance force readiness.
