Bumbles on Wild Raspberry at EvansNotch_DSC3961-1000
I was lucky to capture this Yellow-banded Bumblebee (Bombus terricola) in flight over Wild Raspberry (Ribes odoratus) in front of the panorama of the White Mountains near Evan's Notch. This bee is now quite rare and should be a protected species! Wild Raspberry is widespread from the coastal plane to mountains of Maine and New Hampshire, and is also an easy and rewarding plant to grow in a garden.
