Coppabella 25kV Air Gap
3503 and 3533 lead an empty Aurizon coal train from Dalrymple Bay or Hay Point to Goonyella Riverside Mine. 3519 and 3539 were also assisting as mid train units along with 3546 near the rear of the train.
The pantographs on both locos in this shot are not in contact with the overhead wires as the train traverses over the 'Air Gap', which is a short gap in the overhead across a level crossing to allow OSOM vehicle access to Coppabella mine.
At the time of this shot, there were only three sets of 3551 class locomotives still in active service hauling coal. A number are in storage at Jillian.
