Marcy & Blayr at The Capitol - 19/365/2010
If you look closely up and to the right, you'll see Marcy Withrow and Blayr Bolton, a Benton Sophomore and Senior respectively. Both are current students of my Principles of Biology and both were invited to present at the "Show-Me TechKnowledge Day" at the Missouri State Capitol.
We presented on our school's widespread use of open, online, social media tools. These really have begun to aggregate our approaches to technology integration with solid curriculum. Our group was rounded out by Junior, Joe Walsh, Freshman, Zackary Bailey, Library Media Specialist, Melissa Corey, and Principal, Dr. Jeanette Westfall.
We were a bit disappointed to not be able to display our public work for more state legislators, but our local reps were very, very welcoming. We felt very supported. Days like this, if nothing else, help to cement the mission and vision of those team members attending such a presentation. Therefore, the day was an overall win.
