Friction Stir Welding and Ares Rockets (NASA, Ares, 1/30/09)
Friction stir welding is used in manufacturing aluminum panels that will fabricate the Ares I upper stage barrel. The Ares rockets are part of NASA's Constellation Program -- a transportation system that will safely and reliably carry human explorers back to the moon, and then onward to Mars and other destinations in the solar system.
