Hex Star Yo-yo

This is the first yo-yo coverlet I made when I started making yo-yo's in 1994. I designed it on hex graph paper and constructed it in sets of nine yo-yo's joined on six sides to form a diamond. I made a huge pile of diamonds using most of the fabrics in my stash and then arranged them on the floor in a colorwash style with red separating the sections. After the large 6-pointed star was finished, I added the light colored yo-yo's around the star to make the coverlet square. This thing is huge and heavy!
