Nadine Lucas says: Windy Angels, I love this picture. From a distance the face is there, but not there. Faded, but it is there if you look closely. Some of the face is covered up, like a mask. To me it expresses loss and shame. Often we try to cover our own Shame with a mask. The problem is that shame has a way of appearing (showing), despite our efforts to hide it.

Nadine Lucas says: This is a lovely, distorted, swollen, bizzare face. Much like my reality growing up. Reality and truth can be soooo distorted. Sometimes I feel so sad and swollen with rivers of tears I've cried. Frozen in a face of dispair. Thank you, Kohei! I love all your faces!

Nadine Lucas says: I have these feelings sometimes, and it is difficult to just feel without judgement or self criticism. sometimes I feel insignificant, invisible, and not truly heard, too. Wendy, I hear and see you! Thank you for helping me heal!

Nadine Lucas says: I love this photo. It is bizzare, warped, powerful. To me it speaks to me of deep pain and agony. An eternal cry from the bottom of your soul.

Nadine Lucas says: I chose this photo for my collage because it is a powerful message about "anger." she is crying and feeling her feelings. Very painful, but a necessary part of the healing process. Thank you, Mary Anne!

Nadine Lucas says: This picture is the first pic I chose as a favorite when I first joined Flickr. I thought it was a painting until I realized that Ingrid had actually painted her own face! To me it is powerful and emotional. I want to paint my face, too, and see what surfaces! The face in this pic looks old and worn, like an antique piece of furniture whose paint is peeling off. Dry, and crumbling down like an old abandoned structure falling apart. I often feel old, worn, and abandoned, as I peel away the layers of pain and suffering. I'm always afraid I will "fall apart."
