Around Turgit area, in the Surma territory. The guns are still massively used by surma people. They first protect their cattle from their ennemies (they have a lot , like the Nyangatom), and aslo to fight against other surma villages, when there is a problem with women or whatever...
If a man kills another, he's sure he'll be killed too, him or someone close to him, as "revenge" tradition.
The Surma / Suri insult the Nyangatom by referring to them as the Bume ('the smelly ones'). The AK-47 is often part of the bride price a warrior gives his new wife's family.
It's always better to ask before taking a picture in the area!
