KX CLA

A busy night. Boiled the eyepiece and then cleaned that bad cement off the lens elements, re-cemented it all back again with the UV optical cement. The KX is now, I hope, fully restored. So the total laundry list of issues...

1. sand gains inside

2. stuck timer (with sand of course)

3. poor slow speed (gummed)

4. stuck mirror issues

5 separated eyepiece

6 aperture mirror detached

7 pentaprism had foam bits

8 replace foam seals

 

...bargin on the bay?

 

Oh, sorry for the lack of pictures... little digital camera's battery was dead and was not charged up until the end
