Chillon Castle

Sunset outside of the Chillon Castle, Veytaux, canton of Vaud, Switzerland

From 1850, this view of the medieval castle of Chillon and the Dents du Midi becomes the "icon" of Montreux’s resort.

The Chillon Castle, made famous by Lord Byron in his poem The Prisoner of Chillon (1816), is the result of several campaigns of expansions that begun in the tenth century.

It is an architectural jewel located in the most beautiful setting imaginable : on the shores of Lake Geneva, right at the foot of the Alps.

When the castle closes its doors to tourists, you can enjoy the sunset in peaceful solitude with over 1000 years of history.
