1959 Pontiac Bonneville / Chevrolet El Camino Conversion Coupe Utility (4 of 5)

As the 1950s drew to a close, Pontiac toyed with the idea of building a car-based pickup to compliment Chevrolet's El Camino. At least one or two prototypes were built, but the model never went into production. This hybrid provides a glimpse of what might have been. It has a full Pontiac front clip and a Bonneville dash. Although the rest of the vehicle appears to be distinctly Chevy, it doesn't take much imagination to replace the Chevrolet seagul fins and eyebrow tail lights with the less dramatic, narrow "v" shaped fins and low and wide lenses that were featured on the Catalina and higher-end Bonneville.
