Learning & Teaching ERASMUS Programme
Teacher Training - Building an international reputation
Our Learning and Teaching team recently hosted its first international ERASMUS programme. This course, ‘Teaching in a Culture of Change’, explored current research on effective and meaningful teaching techniques in the pursuit of teaching excellence. It also included instruction on effective and innovative use of PBL and TEL. Participants also had the opportunity to meet with representatives from different curriculum areas who showcased the diverse and pioneering work that takes place at NWRC. This included Vonny Mc Laughlin at the DIAL Centre, Stella Graham at Foodovation and Stephen Sheridan at the Careers Academy. The course was attended by: Dr Maria Theodoropoulou, University of Patras, Greece; Professor Licia Maria Montagna, Humanitas University, Milan, Italy; Professor Clare Mandin and Professor Alexandre Laurent, University of Angers, France. The participants reported the course to be ‘pertinent and important’, ‘very motivating’ and ‘very impressive’ and have returned to their home countries with an extremely high opinion of the College and its staff.
Feedback comments from the event included:

‘ I found each day really interesting. I think you have a beautiful background and teaching and learning experience to share with others.’
‘ A particularly pertinent and important presentation. It gave lots of ideas and destroyed false clichés I had. It should become an online lecture that could be spread over the world.
