Rongai Lions
I counted as many as 14 lions in the Rongai Pride and assume that there were a few more out wandering about marking territory. Once, a female from another pride wandered into their territory and I thought I was going to witness a battle, but the intruder beat a hasty retreat after some confrontation I did not see. It stirred them up, some roaring their displeasure for over 15 minutes. I could tell they were tense, as when one pride mate when to rub up against another, normally warmly greeted, she got a toothy warning to keep her distance. In this image, they were getting along nicely and a group of them took the mound to peruse their environment for prey.
