Station water sampling

Here, the biologist samples water from the Indian River Lagoon. The researcher is measuring station waters to filter for chlorophyll concentrations. Researchers also collect samples for phytoplankton community structure. These analyses include microscopy, flow cytometry and molecular techniques. Scattered about are 8-liter carboys that will be filled with station waters for stable isotope work conducted by the Smithsonian Institute.
