Structures of Silence
In creating this image, I wanted to capture the very essence of contemplation and silence. I deliberately chose a long exposure to transform the sea into a milky veil, erasing all agitation and creating this impression of suspended time. My intention was to reduce the landscape to its most essential elements - the geometric lines of the fishing huts contrasting with the infinite softness of water and sky.
The reduced, almost monochrome palette, barely touched by the blue notes of the cabins, conveys this search for simplicity and purity. I wanted the viewer to feel this moment of absolute calm, this tipping point where nature and human constructions seem frozen in perfect harmony.
When composing this image, I sought to create a meditative space where the gaze can get lost in the different shades of gray, only anchored by the discreet yet assertive presence of the stilted structures. For me, this photograph is an invitation to slowness and contemplative observation of a maritime landscape reduced to its most minimalist and poetic expression.
