Mailbox "unofficial" parking
The DNR's upper parking lot will be closed all winter, but despite the scary looking signs in the pullout across the road, it's most likely ok to park there. They represent a long running dispute between the landowner, the DNR, and King County about the exact location of the road right-of-way boundaries. The land owner installed the cement blocks with the signs painted on them, but does not monitor use of the lot (as far as I know). The parcel next to the road behind the signs is for sale.
