His Life as a Dog

Pretending to be our neighbor's dog, Ginger, early last week. A very

fun moment before a very hard one.

 

On the way back home that day, Max's ride-on toy got hung up on a crack

in the sidewalk. Since he likes to ride fast, he got tossed, and must

have landed tooth first -- he broke one of his front teeth. I could see

he broke the tooth, but with all the blood and crying I wasn't exactly

sure how badly or what else was injured. It was the scariest and

saddest moment I've had in a long time.

 

Fortunately a neighbor who's a pediatric nurse came right out to

assist. She's been a wonderful support since we brought Max home from

the hospital as a newborn (her son is the cute guy in my senior portrait shots

earlier this summer).

 

Sometime later I'll post a shot of his current grin, but it's soon to

change again. After two dentist visits, the doctor determined the

tooth is abscessed, and on Monday it will be pulled.
