Hoarfrost on the Merced River, Yosemite

This is a detailed view of a spot along the Merced River that I spotted back while visiting Yosemite back in January. If you look way off to the left in this photo (you probably have to view the large version) you can see a where these bushes were growing along the river bank.

Because this part of the river spends all day in the shade it stayed much cooler than other parts of the valley and had much more snow and even hoarfrost in mid afternoon.

It's nothing remarkable in terms of composition, I know, which is why I havne't bothered to upload it. But I thought the reflection and contrast were kind of eye catching, enough to make it work sharing.

I also wanted to break up my beach & ocean shots, just for some variety.
