With Deep Appreciation

Day Three Hundred Fifty-Eight/365.

To the retired couple who were strolling along the road when they saw Janice fall from the fourth step, who made sure she was comfortable, walked our dogs, and stayed with her until the ambulance came, we are grateful.

To the police officer who used his shadow to keep a woman with MS out of the summer sun while she lay on the sidewalk, waiting for the ambulance, we offer our thanks.

To the EMT who kept my wife awake during a half-hour ride, when all her shocked consciousness wanted to do was sleep . . .and, he kept her laughing . . .we love the way you do your job.

About the nurse who offered me a few dollars of his own money to buy dinner for myself at the hospital cafeteria as I waited in the emergency room, I am amazed and impressed.

Because of the orthopedic surgeon who diagnosed the fracture of the radius (bone in the arm), who saw the need for surgery, and who came back to visit Jan in the ER room more times than his job required, always with a grin, I have restored faith.
