Drive-Through Narthex

Day two hundred seventy-one/365. She wasn't physically hurt. She says she was leaving the driveway of the bank next door to the church when her brakes failed. Instead of entering traffic, she turned onto the lawn of the church, hoping the grass would stop tne momentum of the car. Maybe it would have, but not fast enough. She was coming up to a walled drop to the next street. If she'd kept going straight, her car would have fallen, nose-first, about three feet down. So, she made a right turn, pointing the vehicle toward the church's front steps. The car climbed the steps and hit the glass front doors before coming to a stop.

The greatest puzzle was how to remove her car from its resting place. But, aside from property damage, there was no harm done.
