Storm Behavior

Day one hundred seventy-eight/365. They're predicting another winter storm, to begin tomorrow and to last into Wednesday.

It's interesting to see the variety of ways people react to such forecasts. It's especially curious to observe the people who take precautions to an extreme.

Of course, grocery stores become crowded with people stocking up on milk and bread, as if they're expecting to be isolated in their homes for a week. Not older people, who may remember those experiences, but younger folks.

In addition, professionals who work by appointments tell me that numbers of people cancel as soon as the forecast is published.

I know a woman who owns a large 4wd pickup, but will not leave her garage if there are flurries in the air.

Are people using the opportunity to stay home and relax? There might be some merit to that decision! If not, and if they're taking caution to an extreme, then I wonder what other ways they apply that sense of caution...
