A Winter's Day In Yosemite

Hi Everyone,

I'm trying something a bit different this year by uploading a video for my annual Christmas post. Not sure how many of you will see this, but I figured it was worth a shot.

Most of the content for this was taken last February over three consecutive snow storms in Yosemite Valley. During the first one, I was actually snowed in as they closed the roads in and out of Yosemite before closing the roads in the park itself as heavy, wet snow brought down several trees and branches throughout the park. While it was a bit sketchy shooting in the park that day, it was definitely amazing to shoot fresh snow in a nearly empty park.

I'm also trying desperately to keep my blog going which I think now has a total of two posts this year. It's been a real challenge to keep posting content there as I've started teaching a new online class at the college and have also been doing quite a bit of traveling this year. If you want to check out my new article, feel free to visit at theresonantlandscape.com .

After banging my head against the wall with Adobe Premiere, I finally switched over to DaVinci Resolve to edit this video. SO much easier! I'm thinking about upgrading to the 4k version for future projects. The quality of this video isn't the best as I wasn't there to shoot video, so what you see here is either shot with my iPhone or GoPro along with some stills from my Nikon.

Anyway, I just wanted to wish all of my friends here on Flickr a very Merry Christmas! I hope to catch up and see as many of your photos as possible over the holidays. :)

All the best,

WM
