Misty Winter Sunrise
Another shot from a great weekend in Yosemite as we headed up to shoot the valley while it was covered in snow. My buddy Tom and I were very surprised to see that the vast majority of the Christmas day snowstorm had not melted yet and we spent long hours shooting over two days. The bummer on this particular trip was that we chose to stay in Bass Lake, which meant having to put chains on the Prius and driving at a snail's pace down highway 41 and back again the next morning. We arrived shortly after 6 AM the next morning, but made a beeline for the Merced River as we wanted to catch the sun coming up behind the trees with the river in the foreground. As soon as the sun hit the river, clouds of mist began to form and both of us spent the next half hour or so shooting before heading over to Yosemite Village for some coffee.
I was also pleased with the sunburst from the Rokinon 12 mm fisheye which saw quite a bit of use over those two days.
