In preparation for some down time this past week we decided to hit the road for another useful "on The Road" shoot. Our destination was Gays Mills WI to collect some of their wonderful apples.

 

This series will be a bit of a mixed bag. We headed out on a norther route across Iowa catching as much back country as we could. We crossed the Mississippi at Lansing IA on a steel girder suspension bridge. Next wandered around the glacial drift-less area of Wisconsin until we arrived at the orchards. The return trip followed much the same plan in revers, although we tried to mix the route up some.

 

To accomplish this all in a day we start out as the sun was coming up and returned as it was setting. This led to the usual problem of having to shoot into the sun both directions. Otherwise it all went well and I came back with 32G+ worth of pictures to sort through. Got some great apples also

 

This first set is an early sun. Many great silhouettes and other unique shots into a red sun.
