11 vs 15

I read somewhere that the ideal width of stripes is 6-8 inches. With 8" we would get 15 stripes per wall (bottom image). But we like 11 stripes better (top image). That would make each stripe about 11" wide.

 

I say forget the experts and go with what feels right, huh? We feel like 15 stripes makes it look more like a cage. The perspective of the images is a little off, but based on this, what do you think?
